Please join us as we welcome Christian Van Dam, who is the proud father of our current exchange student, Rachelle.

Christian works at a Forensic Mental Health Hospital in the Netherlands, and he will present on his expertise in this field.

This will be another one of our fabulous Pizza and Pop events!

Previous Club Event: Meeting -April 21st

We enjoyed a presentation by Alex Baum and the Trail Team, who presented an update on our signature project - Connecting the Trails.

Connecting the Trails (The Trail) is a once-in-a-lifetime Alberta project working to plan and build a trail from Calgary to Canmore. Upon completion, this trail will become part of the 28,000-kilometre Trans Canada Trail Network.

The Trail will be a multi-use pathway and regional connector in the Bow Valley, offering a diverse range of opportunities for recreation, tourism, and commuting. People of all ages and abilities will be able to explore the scenic prairie, foothills, and mountain landscapes along The Trail.

More than 60 people, the majority of whom are volunteers, are working to develop and oversee the project. The project is proudly sponsored by the Rotary Club of Cochrane and works closely with an Owners' Council that includes representatives from the Town of Cochrane, the City of Calgary, and Alberta Forestry, Parks & Tourism.

Sue removed the “Blue (dot) Jewel” from Richard's membership badge, signifying that he had completed the membership introduction process. 

Au Revoir, Earl!

It was with a mixture of sadness, fondness, and tremendous respect that we learned that Earl, our Club Elder, informed us that he would be moving to Canmore in early May.

We are NOT saying good-bye, Earl, we will say “Au Revoir” (Until we see you again). No doubt you will have Club members dropping by for a visit with you in Canmore, 

Earl is our Club Pearl!

It is time to work on the meeting duties for 2026/27, which starts on July 1, 2026.

Volunteer positions include Setup/Takedown, Attendance, Sergeant and Audio Visual.

By choosing a month to support our club, you will be asked to volunteer for 2 or 4 meetings.

Volunteering early allows you to select the prime spots.

Sergeant's duties are wrapped up, except for the 2nd meeting of the month.  This is an opportunity to gently poke fun at your fellow members and raise some cash for the club, and if you are the Sergeant, you are free from fines.

Attendance-taking is a great way to put faces to names, especially valuable for new members.  And, for seasoned members, an opportunity to connect with new members.

Audio Visual needs a bit of training, but keep in mind that two members did most of the meetings this past year.  We need to avoid volunteer fatigue.

Please consider volunteering for meeting duties, and be prepared to see a sign-up sheet at the next meeting.

The Rotary Club of Cochrane was chartered on May 17, 1991. To honour our Club's beginning, we will be having a grand celebration at the Ranchehouse
HALL OF VISION on May 28th.

The evening will be a fun celebration!

Tables will be assigned on a first come first serve basis. Scott Grattidge will be our Master of Ceremonies.
