Outhouse Races

Location: Main Street, Cochrane
Team Categories:
Competitive Division (For teams racing to win — speed, strategy, and skill!)
Comical Division (For teams bringing the fun — costumes, creativity, and crowd appeal!)
Team Requirements:
Each team must consist of:
- 4 Pullers/Pushers
- 1 Rider (must remain inside the outhouse during the race)
Outhouse Requirements:
- Must be safely constructed on a mobile base
- Must include handles for 4 participants to push/pull
- Must safely accommodate one rider
- May have two or four wheels
Fundraising Commitment:
Each team’s entry is its fundraising contribution toward purchasing a new bus for the BGC Cochrane and Area.
Teams are encouraged to fundraise within their business, organization, or network — every contribution helps move us closer to our goal.
Good news! In celebration of the Rotary Club of Cochrane’s 35th anniversary, we will be covering entry fees for the upcoming Outhouse races. Space is limited, so remember to register today!
Important Requirements:
Helmets are mandatory for all racers and riders
Participants will not be permitted on the course without a helmet
All participants must complete and sign a waiver form prior to racing
Teams must be checked in and set up between 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM
Race details, rules, and course instructions will be provided after registration
Join us for one of Cochrane’s most entertaining community events,
all in support of the BGC Cochrane and Area (formerly known as the Boys & Girls Club of Cochrane and Area)
Registrations open April 15th 2026 and close August 23rd 2026
A maximum of 20 teams will be registered, determined by the order in which they are submitted, in the order they are completed, to the email address. Registration will close once 20 teams are registered.

Donate Directly to the BGC Cochrane and Area
The Rocky Mountain Rotary Club ran the Outhouse Races for some time, but this club, made up of a group of wonderful young men and women, disbanded in 2025.
The original, and thriving Rotary Club of Cochrane, which was established in 1991, is now taking on this Rotary project, which has long been a Cochrane tradition and community favourite. We look forward to making this event the BEST EVER!
