Lucy thanked our Cochrane Rotary Club for supporting her upcoming Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE) to Italy!
She hoped to learn many new things, and she promised to teach others about her home community of Cochrane and her home country, Canada.

IRONMAN 70.3 Calgary is making its debut in Cochrane, Alberta, taking place on July 25–26, 2026, with key events including a 1.9 km swim at Ghost Lake, a 90 km bike course, and a 21.1 km run finishing at the Historic Cochrane Ranche.
Race Weekend Schedule
Saturday, July 25: IronKids Fun Run at 9:00 AM, package pickup and race expo at the SLS Recreation Centre (800 Griffin Road E) from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and mandatory bike drop-off at Ghost Lake from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Sunday, July 26: Transition opens at 5:30 AM, pulse rolling swim start begins at 7:00 AM, and the awards ceremony/world championship slot allocation starts at 3:30 PM at the Historic Cochrane Ranche finish line.
Course and Spectator Highlights
The Route: Features a swim at Ghost Lake, a scenic bike ride through rural roads north of Cochrane, and a run along the Bow River corridor and local pathway network. [1]
Spectator Hotspots: Special spectator zones include "Hillbilly Hollow" at Mitford Park featuring a DJ, cheer stations, and an activation at the local Garmin headquarters. [1]
Traffic Impacts: Temporary road closures and delays affect Glenbow Drive, Glenpatrick Drive, and Highway 22 between 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM on Sunday. Full details and updates are available on the official IRONMAN 70.3 Calgary site.

Outhouse Races News
Our next Media Release will be July 27 at 12 noon at BGC. Members are encouraged to attend.
Registrations for Teams to compete in the races are open. Our Rotary team is registered. Teams of 5 people with a mobile outhouse are encouraged to register soon and participate in the fun. Team registration forms are online.
We are running a raffle for this $3,000 E-Bike to support our BGC fundraiser. Tickets $10. Members can buy a ticket and/or take a book of tickets to sell. The draw will be at the event's close.
