Our Meeting Location is Accessible!

Oh Canada!

Meeting Notes: Tuesday, February 3rd

Our Club was hoping to welcome Peter Chaburski (via ZOOM) who was to share a presentation about the Rotary Canada–Ukraine Intercountry Committee and its Its mission to help Rotary clubs in Ukraine find partners and support for their projects. This presentation will now be made during a future Club meeting.

Next Meeting: February 10th

Former President, Anna-Marie, will lead a group of Rotary Club of Cochrane Rotarians International Convention Attendees to reflect on the impression that this convention had on them.

See you there. Bring your appetite!

Additional New Member Orientation Sessions

A message from our Zone membership coordinator, Louisa Horne:

"Thank you to the 100 people who participated in our Orientation session last evening.  We appreciate the positive feedback on it!  The fast-paced 45 minutes flew by.

We are so sorry that many people were not able to get into the Zoom session – we were a victim of our own success as we maxed out the technology.  So, we quickly scheduled TWO extra sessions in February to make it possible for more people to attend.  Different days and different times – they might work better for some time zones too!

These two extra New Member Orientation sessions are in addition to the one previously scheduled for April 23rd at 7:30 p.m. Eastern.

The additional sessions will be held:

  • Tuesday, February 11th at 8:30 p.m. Eastern
  • Sunday, February 15th at 9:30 p.m. Eastern

The link is the same for all sessions – and it is the same as this year’s monthly Monday Meetups – here is the link:

Hopefully, more new Rotarians and Rotaractors, and those wanting a refresher, will be able to attend one of these three sessions.  We are also available to offer special sessions for districts upon request.

Thanks again – hope to see your new folks at one of the upcoming three sessions."

Louisa

Welcome to the Club, Vince!

Sergeant-at-Arms is a regular part of Rotary Clubs, usually happening near the end of general Club meetings. It is a long-standing tradition that it done by many Rotary Clubs around the world. It is a fun way to humorously and affectionately poke fun at club members, while raising funds that will be used for the greater good of the community and our world.

Baby, it's cold outside!

On February 28, Helping Hands Cochrane is hosting the Coldest Night of the Year, a 2 + 5 km "Winterrific" walk hosted in 190+ cities across Canada in support of our work in Cochrane, AB, with people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness.

THE GOAL: Help us raise $75,000 by February 28, 2026, and prove that cold weather cannot stop warm hearts.

If you are interested in participating as a Club, please email Bill. If there is enough interest, he will create and register our participation as a Club.

Photos Needed!

Do you have photos from the early days of our Rotary Club of Cochrane?
Please email any such photos to Bill and describe when they were taken. If they are photographic prints, please bring them to a Club meeting and Bill will digitize them and return them to you. This request is in support of the upcoming 35th Anniversary of our Club.
