Paul Harris Fellowship
The Rotary Club of Cochrane is seeking nominations from its membership for a Paul Harris Fellow to be awarded at our 35th Anniversary Celebration on May, 28th.
Nominations must include a letter of support from the nominator (less than 500 words). Nominations should be received by April 1st.
The following are some considerations and guidelines;
-A difference maker for their organization(s) and the community
-Has demonstrated “Service Above Self.”
-The individual is not a Rotarian.
-The individual has not been a previous recipient.
The recipient will be selected by a committee comprising the foundation chair, Dan Paarsmarkt, and at least two other Rotarians, and will be ratified by the Board.
The winner will be announced at the Rotary Club of Cochrane's 35th Anniversary Event.

The evening will be a fun celebration!

Trail Tales #5
“Milestone #1: Laying the Groundwork”
With The Trail formally established as a Signature Project, work shifted from vision and alignment to structured planning. One of the earliest major implementation milestones was the completion of the Implementation Framework for the Glenbow-to-Cochrane segment of the trail.
This framework established the structural groundwork for how this portion of the project could move forward — addressing considerations such as route alignment, infrastructure requirements, jurisdictional coordination, governance discussions, and long-term feasibility planning. In projects of this scale, visible construction comes much later. Work begins with foundational planning documents like this — the frameworks that guide engineering, partnerships, funding strategy, and regulatory pathways.
Simply put: before you can build the trail, you have to design how it will come to life.
