Assistant Governor Appointment
Sue Carpenter-Parnell has been appointed to the role of Assistant Governor effective July 1, 2025.  It has a 3-year term.  Sue will take over from Bryce Weidman of the Canmore Club. Sue’s area includes 4 Rotary clubs: Banff, Canmore, Cochrane, and Cochrane Rocky Mountain Rotary.  The role of an Assistant Governor (AG) is to act as a liaison between the clubs and the District Governor, helping to ensure the clubs are effective and achieve their goals, to assess clubs and develop goals, help club presidents, and provide information, resources, and advice.
As well as being our club Membership Director, Sue serves on our District 5360 Membership Committee as the Lead for Club Health, covering the whole District in supporting clubs and reporting to the District Membership Chair.
Our current District Governor is Christina Hassan. Christina met with us and introduced herself at our club meeting on June 25 at BREC. Our District Governor Elect is Manon Mitchell, a member of the Calgary Downtown Club.

December 10th Meeting Recap
Dan Paarsmarkt gave his introductory talk.  He shared that he has had two impactful events that have changed the course of his life.  On was being rescued from a river by his mother, the second was committing to his wife rather than following a career path.  Dan is  happily married with two children.  He is a returning member of the Cochrane Club, and previously served as President and twice as Assistant Governor.
Hank provided a reminder for the Christmas Party (see details above) which is the last time the Club will meet in 2024.  January meetings at the Legion will all be catered, resuming 'lunch' at the lunch meeting.
Bob provided an update on the Foundation contributions by the Club.
Anita advised Members that there are various ways to donate to RI, and for contributions to come back to our Club for scholarships and grants, we need to contribute to the Annual Fund - Share option.
Chrystal announced that a poll will be coming out to Members regarding resuming hybrid zoom meeting for those unable to attend in person all the time.
