September is Basic Education and Literacy Month

Dolly Parton was well known for her talents as a songwriter, singer, and actress; she was also a philanthropist who made childhood literacy a major part of her life's work through her Imagination Library, which ensured millions of young children worldwide had access to books. Putting for Polio

A terrific time was had at the 4th Annual Rotary Club of Cochrane “Putting for Polio” Event on Tuesday, September 22nd, at the mini-golf course at the Cochrane Golf Course.

In total, 37 participants attended, including 19 club members and 18 guests, six of whom were kids.

After 18 holes, participants headed to the Sweet Spot for nourishment. Putting for Polio organizer Martin said a few words about the status of eradicating Polio and the importance of continuing our efforts.

He then announced the results of the “Putting” event. In total, there were 23 holes-in-one! AMAZING! The evening ended with prizes and fellowship. Thank you to Bill for providing some of the prizes.

Many thanks to everyone involved and who donated to the PolioPlus Fund. Finally, “Save the Date” for Tuesday, September 21st 2027. Everyone is welcome at the 5th Annual Rotary Club of Cochrane Putting for Polio.
