MTA Wrap Up and Cheque Presentations to Beneficiaries
The Cochrane and Area Health Foundation received $34,750 toward their goals of improving health care delivery in our community. Working with all local health groups in order to work together to create a unified voice to address Cochrane's needs, their focus will include extending the hours at Urgent Care and working with the Cochrane and Area Hospice Society to increase the availability of end of life care.

The Bethany Care Foundation received their request for $15,500 which will be used to purchase portable lifts and commodes for their residents. Bethany is a long term care and end of life care provide in Cochrane.

Cochrane Search and Rescue also expressed their gratitude for the funds they received from the MTA, and all the essential equipment that has been paid for this year and over the past number of years.
Exchange student, Ria presents President Keith with a book from her home town, Hamburg, and a banner from her home Rotary club.
Judie shared that the Phase 3 Belize grant has been approved, with 10 other Rotary clubs in the District supporting it, and she reminded us of the fundraiser at the Ironwood in Calgary on October 20th (see below for details).
Denise highlighted the Interact Club activity at Cochrane High, with 30-35 students showing interest at the first meeting.
Sue provided updated membership numbers - we are now at 42, the goal was 43, and we have 5 waiting to be inducted and 3 more interested! She also mentioned our sponsorship of a Rotoract Club of 18 women in Afghanistan.
Cyndie asked everyone to think about how they can participate in the Cochrane Hosting Event on June 23rd, 2025 during the International Rotary Convention.
Scott Grattidge, Sergeant of the day, issued fines based on his Oilers bias and concern for supporting the Canada Pension Plan.

The agenda will be a mix of general ClubRunner platform training and answering any and all questions you may have about Rotary, in regards to our Club and beyond including the International Rotary Exchange Program as the evening will also feature our returning Outbound Student from last year, Sophia Torriero. She will provide us details of her experience of her year in Germany.
