January 21st Meeting Recap

Recent birthdays!

Business Reports:

  • Club Service -Hank:

    • Clark is organizing a Billiard Tournament for January 28th at The Venue. Cost is $5

  • Finance: Glen

    • 46 members, more exposure in the community, thanks to Communications Committee, thanks to Hank for organizing our lunches, and social events, budget CAN-U.S. exchange rate is impacting our budget with respect to paying due to Rotary International (USA), MTA raised less money last summer compared to previous tournaments, Glen asked for someone to take on use of MailChimp for MTA newsletter communications.

  • International Service -Michael:

    •  We applied to Rotary International for a grant to support our work in Pakistan, Michael and Judy travelled to Pakistan to make a film to help raise awareness

    • The Belize project is on the verge of completing its third round of funding, Club funds raised are matched by the Rotary International Magic Fund, the administration of these funds is cumbersome. The local group in Belize changed their priorities, we need to raise $8,000 in order not to lose $160,000 in Rotary International matching funds.
