The Rotary Book Club meets on ZOOM the third Monday of the month from 7pm to 8pm.
The Book Club choice for March is A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles. The story of a Russian aristocrat living under house arrest, in a luxury hotel, for more than thirty years.

February 18th Meeting Recap...
Sandra Robin, Manager of the Big Hill Lodge, thanked our Cochrane Rotary Club for its generous donation of $14,600 from the MTA Fundraising Golf Tournament. Sandra mentioned that this donation helped Big Hill Lodge residents and staff acquire a new bus to help them get out and around.

There are still openings for RILA -Rotary Youth Leadership Awards. It is for High School students ages 15-18.
SEEDS Connections Program connects indigenous and non-indigenous youth
Adventures in Citizenship Program is held in early May in Ottawa.
EarlyAct club, at Glenbow Elementary school is preparing for their next project; a 3k walk & run. Students are discussing what charity will receive the proceeds of their event.
Club Service -Hank:
25 Club members have signed up for the dinner at AAMA Nepalese Restaurant on Tuesday, February 25th at 5:30 pm.

Hank thanked my Purple Pantry for proving us lovely lunches to date. The Legion will be providing lunch for us as of March 4th.
Community Service -Alex:
Dan: The next Community Lunch will happen at St. Andrew's United Church on Tuesday, February 2th at noon. We will prepare and serve soup.
Funding for community projects. Many requests are coming in.
Anita and Bill are working on a Bike Rack project with Bike Cochrane and the Town of Cochrane.
Martin -spoke about having positive messaging about mental health along a portion of The Trail near Cochrane
The Trans-Canada Trail Project is currently our "Signature" Project.
What will out next "Big Project be?
Foundation -Bob:
The Foundation contributions are solid. Currently at $4,300. Our Club goal is $8,000
Dan will be the new Foundations director after July 1st.
We need to meet a certain minimum standard to be able to access higher level Rotary grants
Communication -Bill:

The Board recently supported having me take on helping Anita refresh and update our club Website. Thank you for your support.
I have been social media to promote our club
International -Michael:
The process of working with our partners in Belize and Pakistan takes time.
We are working with our partners to help them set up a micro-loan program.
Our Club Board has approved funds to support this work.
Sue -Membership:
Our membership goal this year was 43 members. We currently have 45. We have two potential transfers into the club.
Sue is going to a Rotary conference in Seattle on Thursday
President -Keith:
The AGLC has granted us a casino On September 30 and October 1 in Calgary.
