Robert Hayes is President and and CEO of Calgary Sports & Entertainment Corporation, assuming this position in June 2024. A native of Halifax, Mr. Hayes prior to his current role had a 35+ year career in the financial sector, working throughout Canada and the US. He held numerous Senior Executive positions that included leading client facing teams focused on areas such as mergers & acquisitions, corporate finance, sports & entertainment, private banking, risk management, and international. This has allowed him to gain a deep understanding across multiple industries and assist Canadian clients in growing their business operations. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Dalhousie University, FCMA, FCPA, and ICD.D designations. He has completed Executive Leadership & Strategic Management programs at Northwestern University, University of Western Ontario, and University of Toronto. In the community Mr. Hayes presently sits on the Calgary Flames Foundation, Calgary Stampeders Foundation, Calgary Economic Development, Calgary Film Centre, and Prostate Cancer Centre Boards. Historically he has served on the Calgary Stampede Foundation $100 million capital campaign committee, served three terms on the United Way Executive Campaign Cabinet, Chaired the Wood’s Homes Foundation Board and assisted with a Capital Campaign and CEO search, was a Westside Recreation Centre board member where he Chaired the Human Resources Committee, and was a member of the Peter Lougheed Centre Development Council for over 10 years. In 2013 Mr. Hayes was recognized as one of Alberta's 50 most influential people.

SAVE THE DATE The Rotary Club of Cochrane was chartered on May 17, 1991 and to honour the event we will be having a grand celebration at the Hall of Vision in the Ranchehouse. The evening is meant to be a celebration with good fun thrown in to make the evening an enjoyable one. Tables will be assigned and Scott Grattidge will be your Master of Ceremonies. Jay McNeil, President of the Calgafy Stampeders, will provide us with an update of the activities that will be happening in and around the Grey Cup game which will be hosted by Calgary on Sunday, November 15th. As a Stampeder, Jay was a 6 time Western Conference all star and played in 4 Grey Cup games. He was twice honoured with the President's Ring as voted on by his teammates. Jay served as a trustee for the CFL Players Pension Plan and as vice-president of the Canadian Football League Players Association.[1] He also acted as a community ambassador for the Stampeder alumni association.[1] In September 2022, Jay was hired by the Stampeders to be the team's Vice President of Business Operations.[3] H took over as President in January of 2024. On January 23, 2024, the Stampeders announced that McNeil had been appointed President of the football club, with outgoing president John Hufnagel remaining with the organization and assuming the role of special advisor to McNeil.[4] Jay is also the Stampeders' CFL Alternate Governor He resides in Calgary with his wife Tara and his son, Cuyler.[1] |
