Chrystal Skead and Allan Carr

 

Me (Cyndie): Hi Chrystal and Allan, tell us where you have been?

Chrystal: Allan and I got back from a cruise on March 15th, and we are on day 12 of self-isolation – almost there and still healthy! 

Allan: Chrystal and I are in day 12 of 14 of self-isolation since returning from our Caribbean cruise , AHS called us on our return to say that we had been potentially exposed to the virus .

Me: How is your isolation affecting your work?

Chrystal: I have been working remotely with a rental building in Calgary, so I have been very busy with the COVID-19 crisis and ensuring our residents have a safe home to isolate in. 

Me: What have you been doing to keep yourselves entertained during this period of isolation?

Chrystal:  For ourselves, we have travelled a lot and we collect Starbuck cups wherever we can.  Each day since we’ve been back we have used a different cup and posted short videos on Facebook about the cup and the destination.  It’s been fun!

Al: We are totally healthy , but our wine cellar has had a  lot of internal damage in the past 12 days . Thank goodness for our treadmill and Yoga routine .All of our spring cleaning was  completed last week

Me (Cyndie): Hey Bob! So, what does semi-isolation look like in the McLeod home?

 

Bob: Damn it's a hard thing to do, but with the marvel of ZOOM and GSuite, I have been able to keep engaged:

  • happy hours with friends across the country

  • family & friends

  • BREC website development with a fantastic team of SATO Designers, Kevin Shier & Kelsey Envik plus the BREC new hire of Jacquie Felesky as Guest Services Manager

  • on going condo self-management with the power of GSuite, ZOOM and a mutually supportive team of Directors

  • fly tying

  • trying to get good files to Alex/Cyndie for BREC for the upcoming presentation

 

Me: So, how does Peggy deal with having you around 24-7?

 

Bob: Now Peggy is never at a loss:

  • quilting

  • Facetime, ZOOM & telephone (yes, seniors still use that medium)

  • and, of course cooking/baking - I am no match!

Me: That would have probably been my guess!! I would be pretty safe in betting that she looks after you, well, especially in the food department!!!  Value this time together!
