A Message from the Cochrane Historical and Archival Preservation Society - Virtual Museum Tour
Hello community!
I am sure you’ve all been wondering about how the Cochrane Historical Museum has been doing, trying to operate under today’s challenging public health regulations. We originally decided back in March to continue to research and construct new displays on the ‘Role of the Horse in early Cochrane and community’ with the hopes of opening our doors to the public sometime in the summer months. Our volunteers were excited to finish our new displays.
Unfortunately the health crisis has continued and the museum’s small space, and age of most of our volunteers, made it impossible to bring the public inside. So when we were presented with a wonderful opportunity by a member of our community, Chris Konanz of Blue Pixel Media who offered to dedicate his time and expertise to assist us in developing a virtual tour of the museum, we jumped at the chance.
Here is the internet link to our virtual museum tour https://chapscochrane.com/virtual-tour-of-cochrane-historical-museum/ Please take some time and enjoy a sneak peek at our new displays, and hear some information and stories about the Role of the Horse in our community. We are excited to present this new way of ‘visiting’ the museum and hope to be able to invite you back next summer to view our displays in person.
If you have any historical artifacts that you might be willing to loan or donate, or have a few hours for volunteering, or would like any other information about the museum, please feel free to get in touch with us by phone 587-777-6926 or e-mail us at contact@chapscochrane.com
