COCHRANE, ALBERTA: The Rotary Club of Cochrane is proud to present the 10th annual Monumental Tournament of Aces this fall and is inviting golfers to swing for the pin in support of great causes.
This fun-filled community event held at the Links of GlenEagles in Cochrane on Saturday, September 30 this year features some of the wackiest golf holes one can imagine and an atmosphere that will be sure to leave participants smiling and chatting about the tournament for months.
With holes ranging in distance from 50 to 165 yards and three pin placements on all but one green, each golfer will have 25 shots to achieve the ultimate in golf- an ace. Prizes will be awarded for any hole-in-ones and closest to each pin. This event includes on-course food, wine tasting, dinner, prizes, silent and live auctions.
Fun and games aside, the Monumental Tournament of Aces is an event that has always been a major supporter of Cochrane and area. Over the past nine tournaments, approximately $800,000 has been raised to support a variety of worthwhile projects.
This year’s funds will go to “Lindsay’s Kids” sports sponsorships, the Rotary Student Exchange Program, and Cochrane Search and Rescue.
For the past three years, the Rotary Club of Cochrane has been working with the Kimmett family to take the reins of the tournament with a goal doing all of the heavy lifting by 2018.
