1. Brown Bear Woman Centre Thursday , July 7th 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm
We have moved the amazing event at Brown Bear Woman center on Tsuu T'ina to Thursday. This will feature one of your best opportunities to meet Jennifer and to hear her amazing messages. We will be hosted by Elder Bruce Starlight and the Tsuu T’ina nation including Chief Roy Whitney, Tribal Elders, Councillors and Community members. The afternoon will include some of the oldest traditions this nation has to offer. This event is interactive with events like Tipi building, the painting of the Tipi, traditional storytelling, dance and traditional foods.
Chief Whitney will welcome Jennifer and continue on the journey of truth and reconciliation. We are fortunate to be able to participate in this incredible celebration and exhibition of heritage of the people of the Tsuu T'ina Nation.
This event's net proceeds will be donated to youth programs on the Tsuu T'ina Nation.
Come out and enjoy the traditional activities from 4:00 – 8:00 pm Friday, July 7th. We have the opportunity to have 150 Rotarians and family to participate at a revised cost of $75 per person.
Our District Rotaract team are coordinating Rotary Engagement in the community with Jennifer taking part in the world-famous Calgary Stampede Parade. Rotary Clubs from all over the District are invited to come out and participate in this event to show the impact Rotary has on our community.
There are 50 slots in total, and we would like to represent as many Rotary clubs as possible in the parade. We are looking for one dedicated member of your Rotary club to participate in the parade.
This involves walking with us and possibly pushing the Rotary float for a period of time. The Rotarian participant must be able to commit from 7:00am-1:00pm on Friday, July 8th, 2022, in Calgary. The Rotarian participant will also have to pay for their Imagine Rotary shirt, which will be $20.
The Move for Polio District Team would also like to have 20 “Walkers” in the parade wearing our End Polio Shirts and truly sharing the amazing impact Rotary has in the world. Separate registration for this as well and $20 cost to get your Shirt
This is a chance to show the world what Rotary is all about. So come out and join us for a fun-filled morning while we support Rotary International's first female president.
3. Umoja Community Mosaic Event Friday, July 8th 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Jennifer's next stop will be with Umoja Community Mosaic, build healthy communities –creating an environment that allows young people and their families to shine, with a motto, "Everyone is welcome". Their programs are designed to foster a sense of community and belonging while promoting physical activity and personal development. Rotary is bussing in families and youth from 5 diverse communities. Each community has children who need an outlet for their energy in a place that fosters diversity.
Engaging these communities is an amazing opportunity to be a part of the energy and will give us an opportunity to enrich the lives of children. There will be various activities, including soccer, mini games, and fun activities, including the launch of the Move for Polio Walk for Mental Health and Wellness. Calgary East Rotary Club will be cooking up a Stampede Burger offering to fill out the day.
This event will capture our passion for Rotary and will offer lots of opportunities to meet Jennifer jones and participate in these engaging events with her.
We will have room for 200 Rotarians, and the cost will be $25 per person.
